The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 13, 2025 SPR25/0321 Dolores Randolph Director of Communications Boston Water and Sewer Commission 980 Harrison Avenue Boston, MA 02119 Dear Ms. Randolph: I have received the petition of Gayla Cawley, of the Boston Herald, appealing the nonresponse of the Boston Water and Sewer Commission (Commission) to a requested for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 13, 2025, Ms. Cawley requested, “job status of [an identified individual], the date his job was terminated/ended and the reason. I’m also requesting his salary and the same information (status, last date of employment and salary) for [an identified individual].” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Cawley petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0321, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission provided Ms. Cawley with a response on February 5, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Commission’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Cawley may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s February 5th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Gayla Cawley One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
