The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 18, 2025 SPR25/0349 Officer Ron Pucci Records Access Officer Dedham Police Department 600 High Street Dedham, MA 02026 Dear Officer Pucci: I have received the petition of Connor J. Powers appealing the nonresponse of the Dedham Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 14, 2025, Mr. Powers requested the following: [1] Any and all communications regarding [an identified individual] between the Dedham Police Department or its employees and the Westwood Police department or its employees. Especially any communication between [an identified individual] and the Westwood Police department or its employees. [2] Any and all communications regarding [an identified individual] between the Dedham police department or its employees and the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department or its employees. [3] Any and all records and reports regarding the conduct of [an identified individual] in any capacity as an employee of the town of Dedham or the state of Massachusetts. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Powers petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0349, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Powers with a response on February 14, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Powers may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
