The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 18, 2025 SPR25/0470 Acting Lieutenant Sean Zrate Records Access Officer Lunenburg Police Department 655 Massachusetts Avenue Lunenburg, MA 01462 Dear Acting Lieutenant Zrate: I have received the petition of Jen and George Burden (Burdens) appealing the nonresponse of the Lunenburg Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 21, 2025, the Burdens requested “…all records related to the theft of a package at [a specified address] that occurred between 01/01/24 and 01/01/25.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the Burdens petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0470, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided the Burdens with a response on February 18, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. The Burdens may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Jen and George Burden One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
