The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 17, 2025 SPR25/0594 Nancy Rauscher Records Access Officer North Adams Public Schools 10 Main Street North Adams, MA 01247 Dear Ms. Rauscher: I have received the petition of Marie Harpin appealing the response of the North Adams Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 26, 2025, Ms. Harpin requested “the 196-page Greylock School Design Development Package used by the School Building Committee at the January 21, 2025 Meeting.” Previous Appeal This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR25/0325 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (February 14, 2025). In my February 14th determination, I ordered the School to clarify its fee estimate. Subsequently, the School responded on February 19, 2025. Unsatisfied with the School’s response, Ms. Harpin petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR25/0594, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, based on a telephone conversation between the Public Records Division and the School on March 12, 2025, I understand that the School intends to provide a supplemental response to Ms. Harpin. Conclusion Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Harpin may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s supplemental response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
