Assistant City Solicitor Law Department City of Worcester 455 Main Street, Room 301 Worcester, MA 01608 Dear Attorney Thompson: I have received the petition of Ms. Elise Lambert appealing the nonresponse of the City of Worcester (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 13, 2024, Ms. Lambert requested “[a]ny and all communications (i.e. email correspondence, letters, etc.) between the City of Worcester, including Worcester Police Department, and the Department of Justice prior to December 2024.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Lambert petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0602, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned the City intends on providing a written response to Ms. Lambert. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Ms. Lambert with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Lambert may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
