Records Access Officer Berkshire District Attorney’s Office 7 North Street Pittsfield, MA 01201 Dear Attorney Pieropan: I have received the petition of Zichang Liu appealing the nonresponse of the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 11, 2025, Zichang Liu requested “… the remaining corresponding records through December 31, 2024 ... for updated unsolved homicide records maintained by Berkshire District Attorney’s office.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Zichang Liu petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0621, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office provided Zichang Liu with a response on March 5, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Zichang Liu may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
