The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 17, 2025 SPR25/0640 Qianna Price Brookline Public Schools 333 Washington Street Brookline, MA 02445 Dear Ms. Price: I have received the petition of Marci Anthony appealing the nonresponse of the Brookline Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 16, 2025, Ms. Price requested the following records: [1] The title, edition, and publisher for all books involving human sexual education or human sexuality issues implemented or maintained in your district; [2] All curriculum and instructional materials involving human sexual education or human sexuality issues implemented or maintained in your district, including but not limited to: videos, pamphlets, slideshows, web-based materials, lesson plans, teacher-generated materials, homework assignments, handouts given in class, surveys, lesson plans, and digital documents containing URLs or titles of videos shown in class; [3] The grade or grades for which the above referenced materials are implemented or maintained; [4] All notifications sent to parents informing them of their right to opt out of curriculum which primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues (per G.L. c. 71, §32A. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Anthony petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0640, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the School has provided a response.
