The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 24, 2025 SPR25/0701 Adrian Walleigh, Esq. Counsel, Public Records Officer Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities 100 Cambridge Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Walleigh: I have received the petition of Jake Hentoff, Esq., of the Boston Globe Media Partners, LLC, on behalf of Deirdre Fernandes, of the Boston Globe, appealing the response of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66 § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 14, 2025, Ms. Fernandes requested, “...the results of the SORI and warrant checks conducted of residents and prospective residents of the shelters from January 1, 2024 to present.” On February 14, 2025, the Office provided a response. Unsatisfied with the Office’s response, Attorney Hentoff petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0701, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office sent a further response to Attorney Hentoff on March 20, 2025. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s February 14, 2025 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Hentoff may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s March 20th response within ninety (90) days. See 50 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Jake Hentoff, Esq.
