The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records April 24, 2025 SPR25/0982 Captain Douglas S. Marcus Records Access Officer Peabody Police Department 6 Allen’s Lane Peabody, MA 01960 Dear Captain Marcus: I have received the petition of Beth Treffeisen, of Boston.com, appealing the response of the Peabody Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 9, 2025, Ms. Treffeisen requested “a copy of the police report on the Tuesday incident in which a man poured paint on several parked Tesla vehicles at the dealership.” The Department responded on April 10, 2025. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Ms. Treffeisen petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR25/0982, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, in an email to this office on April 11, 2025, Ms. Treffeisen stated that “the Peabody Police Department has since sent over the requested police report.” In a further email to this office on April 23, 2025, Ms. Treffeisen stated that “I’m OK with closing this appeal.” In light of Ms. Treffeisen’s April 23rd email, I will now consider this appeal closed. Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Beth Treffeisen One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
