See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 26, 2025, Mr. Ainooson requested “[r]ecords on the updated GPS/ankle monitoring bracelet that is presently being issued to parolees[.]” Specifically, Mr. Ainooson sought: [1] What information is being recorded and collected through the bracelet/GPS monitoring device, for example, beyond recording the location does it also record speech, sounds, vital signs (but not limited to); Is the new GPS/monitoring device larger in capacity; does it vibrate, make any sounds and/or allow for any form of communication(s)[;] [2] Is there any memos, documentation and/or data recorded expressing any discomfort, pain, lack of circulation and/or disruption of sleep caused by the old and/or new GPS/ankle monitoring bracelet[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Ainooson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0993, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned the Board intends on providing a written response to Mr. Ainooson. Accordingly, the Board is ordered to provide Mr. Ainooson with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Ainooson may appeal the substantive nature of the Board’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
