The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records April 29, 2025 SPR25/1041 Matthew J. Costa, Esq. City Solicitor City of Taunton Law Department 15 Summer Street Taunton, MA 02780 Dear Attorney Costa: I have received the petition of Emma Rindlisbacher appealing the response of the City of Taunton (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 1, 2025, Ms. Rindlisbacher requested “copies of any city council executive session minutes since Jan 1, 2019.” On April 9, 2025, Ms. Rindlisbacher modified the scope of her request to “just executive sessions related to the tribe and/or casino.” The City responded on April 15, 2025, providing a fee estimate. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, and objecting to the fees, Ms. Rindlisbacher petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR25/1041, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, in an email to the City and this office on April 17, 2025, Ms. Rindlisbacher states that “this email should function as a request to withdraw the appeal regarding the executive session minutes.” In light of Ms. Rindlisbacher’s April 17th email, I will now consider this appeal closed. Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Emma Rindlisbacher One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
