Devilly Sergeant/Patrol Supervisor West Bridgewater Police Department 99 West Center Street West Bridgewater, MA 02379 Dear Sergeant Devilly: I have received the petition of Griffin Polinsky, of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, appealing the nonresponse of the West Bridgewater Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 14, 2025, Mr. Polinsky requested “[a]ll list[s] of all police officers employed by West Bridgewater Police Department since January 1, 2020, with the following information: Employee Identification number[;] Full name[;] Badge number[;] Status (i.e, ‘active’ or ‘suspended with pay’)[;] Date the individual joined the West Bridgewater Police Department[;] Date the individual left the West Bridgewater Police Department (if applicable)[.]” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Polinsky petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/1289, was opened as a result. Subsequently, on April 9, 2025, I learned the Department intends on providing a written response to Mr. Polinsky. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Polinsky with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Polinsky may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
