The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records May 28, 2025 SPR25/1379 Chief Keith Stark Weymouth Fire Department 636 Broad Street Weymouth, MA 02189 Dear Chief Stark: I have received the petition of Jim Young appealing the response of the Weymouth Fire Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 29, 2025, Mr. Young requested, “[a]ll invoices for all fire department related [to] outside legal expenses for the past 10 years. Please include any agreements signed with outside legal counsel.” The Department responded on May 15, 2025. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Young petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/1379, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Young with a further response on May 27, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s May 15th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Young may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s May 27th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Jim Young One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
