The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 7, 2025 SPR25/1831 Mathew Fitton Executive Assistant to the Town Manager Town Manager’s Office Town of Southbridge 41 Elm Street Southbridge, MA 01550 Dear Mr. Fitton: I have received the petition of Julia Ducey appealing the response of the Town of Southbridge (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 17, 2025, Ms. Ducey requested, “the job application of recording clerk … and all supporting documents [and] the job application and supporting documents of [an identified individual], executive assistant to the Town Manager.” The Town provided a response on June 23, 2025. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, Ms. Ducey petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/1831, was opened as a result. Subsequently, the Town provided a supplemental response on June 27, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s June 23rd response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Ducey may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s June 27th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Julia Ducey One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
