The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 30, 2025 SPR25/2177 Sofya Gray Records Access Officer Secretary of the Commonwealth Administrative Services Division One Ashburton Place, Room 1710 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Ms. Gray: On July 24, 2025, this office received a petition on behalf of the Public Records Division (Division) seeking an extension of time to produce records. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, I understand that the Division furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor, Commonwealth Transparency / OpenCommonwealth.org (requestor). G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On June 25, 2025, the requestor sought the following: [A]ny and/or all public records in your possession or under your control for the following, limited to the years 2020 through the date you respond to this request; - Any and all communications with [a named individual] (specifically including, but not limited to the email address . . .), including but not limited to internal (within the offices of the SPR) communications, and external communications. This request includes, but is not limited to any written letter(s) or memoranda, notes, electronic communication(s), and/or message(s) including but not limited to written documents, emails (Electronic mail), text messages, collaboration messages from platforms like teams, WhatsApp, and Git[.] In an email to the Division on July 24, 2025, the requestor states that “OpenCommonwealth does not object to this extension.” In light of the above, I find it is unnecessary to opine on the Division’s petition for an extension of time.
