G. L. c. 66, § 10(c). As required by law, it is my understanding that the City furnished a copy of the petition to the requestor, Tom Marino, of This Week In Worcester. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On July 14, 2025, Mr. Marino requested: [1] [A] data compilation of the citizen/resident petitions rejected by offices of the city clerk/ city solicitor in calendar year 2025, and the reason for each rejection[;] [2] [T]he email or other notice provided by the clerk’s office to the petitioner related to each rejection[;] [3] [T]he text submitted by the petitioner for each petition rejected[.] Subsequent to the opening of this petition, in an email to the City and this office on August 12, 2025, Mr. Marino stated, “I have no objection to the extension.” In light of the foregoing, I find it is unnecessary to opine on the City’s petition for an extension of time.
