LaLiberte Town Clerk Town of Swampscott 22 Monument Avenue Swampscott, MA 01907 Dear Mr. LaLiberte: I have received the petition of OpenCommonwealth (requestor) appealing the response of the Town of Swampscott (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 20, 2025, the requestor sought, “[a]ny and all contracts which are valid during any portion of calendar year 2025 with any exterminator, pest-control, or other service with the purpose of rodent/rat control in your city/town.” The Town responded on August 21, 2025, providing a fee estimate. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/2484, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town provided a further response on August 28, 2025. Where this appeal was opened based on the Town’s August 21, 2025 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If unresolved issues remain, the requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s August 28th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
