Assistant Attorney General Records Access Officer Office of the Attorney General One Ashburton Place, 20th Floor Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Rush: I have received the petition of Sharon Riddick appealing the response of the Office of the Attorney General (AGO) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 21, 2025, Ms. Riddick requested the following records: [1] Any records, alerts, reports, or communications involving me or my address that have been generated, shared with, or processed by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), Boston Police Department, Boston Housing Authority, or state/federal law enforcement agencies. [2] Copies of any Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), watchlists, assessments, or joint-agency communications containing my name or identifying details. The AGO responded on August 11, 2025 and August 21, 2025. Unsatisfied with the responses, Ms. Riddick petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/2496, was opened as a result. Subsequently, the AGO sent a further response on September 5, 2025, which Ms. Riddick appealed. Subsequently, I learned that the AGO provided Ms. Riddick with a response on September 8, 2025, in which the AGO stated “... [it] will conduct another search and send another written response.” Accordingly, the AGO is to provide Ms. Riddick with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Riddick may appeal the substantive nature of the AGO’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
