Tivnan Drive West Boylston, MA 01583 Dear Attorney Gould: I have received the petition of Anastasia Lennon, of the New Bedford Light, appealing the response of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § l0A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 2, 2025, Ms. Lennon requested the following records: [1] All communications (emails, email attachments, memos, voicemails, text messages, audio messages) between this office/its staff and DHS/ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)/its staff between May 1 and Aug. 15, 2025. To assist in your search for the email portion of the request, please search for emails sent and/or received by addresses that end in the following, or the following individuals: [a] dhs.gov (including, but not limited to, @ice.dhs.gov or @hq.dhs.gov)[;] [b] The sheriff[;] [c] Sheriff’s office staff serving as or who have been assigned as a point of contact or liaison to ICE[;] [d] Separately, with a date range of Jan. 1 to Sept. 1, 2025[.] [2] All documents relating to any ICE employee’s access to information created or maintained by the sheriff’s office[.] [3] Any document describing the sheriff’s office cooperation and/or communication with ICE[.] The Office responded on September 8, 2025. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Lennon petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/2645, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office sent a supplemental response to Ms. Lennon on September 10, 2025.
