The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 17, 2025 SPR25/2905 Allison Mondello Public Records Manager Massachusetts Department of State Police 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Anthony Werra appealing the response of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 5, 2025, Mr. Werra requested “records related to traffic stops conducted by Massachusetts State Police Unit 1288 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on September 3, 2025, on the following roadways:” [1] Route 25 northbound (Wareham/Bourne area) [; and] [2] Route 28 northbound (Bourne area)[.] Specifically, Mr. Werra requested: [1] Daily log entries or incident reports documenting these stops[;] [2] Any citations issued [; and] [3] Narrative portions of the reports, if available[.] The Department responded on September 8, 2025. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Werra petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/2905, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Werra with a supplemental response on October 9, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s September 8th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Werra may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s October 9th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
