Blankenship appealing the response of the Town of North Brookfield (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 29, 2025, Mr. Blankenship requested, “the following items regarding [seven identified individuals][:] [1] Copies of sworn oaths[;] [2] Copies of All resignations[;] [3] Place of employment in their new departments[;] [4] Any prior or recent complaints from anyone else regarding any misconduct.” The Town responded on October 29, 2025. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Blankenship petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/3188, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, in email to this office on October 30, 2025, a Town representative stated, “I am not sure what Mr. Blankenship is appealing. I give a blanket response to all public records requests that advises that the request has been received. . .” In an email to the Town and copied to this office on the same date, Mr. Blankenship responded, “[t]here is some confusion. I will send you the proper request. I am referring to the north Brookfield Massachusetts police department.” Following this exchange and a request for clarification from this office regarding this appeal, Mr. Blankenship confirmed with this office in an email dated October 30, 2025 that he wishes to withdraw this appeal.
