See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 22, 2025, Mr. Johnson requested the following: A copy of any electronic mail (“Email”) communications (with any attachments thereto) in the possession, custody, or control of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of the State Police (“MSP”) with the following subject[:] [1] Complaint – [an identified individual] violations of 14th Amendment - - - (08 / 27 / 2025)[;] [2] Third copy provided to [an identified individual] - - - (09 / 22 / 2025)[;] [3] Hunger Strike to vindicate 14th Amendment protections - - - (October 17, 2025)[;] [4] Follow-up letter to [an identified individual] - - - (10 / 20 / 2025)[;] [5] Follow-up letter to [an identified individual] - - - - (10 / 21/ 2025)[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Johnson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/3354, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Johnson with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office.
