The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records December 23, 2025 SPR25/3632 Ben Kaufman Town Clerk Town of Brookline 333 Washington Street, Room 104 Brookline, MA 02445 Dear Mr. Kaufman: I have received the petition of Rita Gill-McCarthy appealing the response of the Town of Brookline (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 23, 2025, Ms. Gill-McCarthy requested “copies of all Certified Payrolls submitted by RCL Mechanical for work on the Brookline Fire Stations 1 & 4. We are also requesting copies of the Prevailing Rate Wage Sheets for this project.” The Town responded on November 13, 2025 and December 1, 2025, and assigned reference number 2026-0435 to this request. Unsatisfied with the Town’s responses, Ms. Gill- McCarthy petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/3632, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town provided Ms. Gill-McCarthy with a supplemental response on December 12, 2025. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s November 13, 2025 and December 1, 2025 responses, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Gill-McCarthy may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s December 12, 2025 response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Rita Gill-McCarthy One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
