The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records January 23, 2026 SPR26/0169 Berit Bjerkadal Records Access Officer Chicopee Police Department 110 Church Street Chicopee, MA 01020 Dear Ms. Bjerkadal: I have received the petition of Bryan Acevedo appealing the response of the Chicopee Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 2, 2026, Mr. Acevedo requested “[a]ll bodycam footage for the Incident at [an identified location] Chicopee Massachusetts on the date of December 20, 2025 at 2033 hour.” The Department responded on January 5, 2026. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Acevedo petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR26/0169, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Acevedo with a supplemental response on January 21, 2026. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s January 5th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Acevedo may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s January 21st response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Bryan Acevedo One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
