G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Department furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor, Michele Corey. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c). On January 15, 2026, Ms. Corey requested, “all of the body-worn camera available for [an identified] incident” that “occurred on 3/5/25 around noon at . . . Colby Street in Medford[.]” Subsequent to the opening of this petition, in an email to this office and copied to the Department on January 23, 2026, Ms. Corey “. . . acknowledged the response from MPD” and noted she “will be issuing the required payment of $100 next week . . . to the MPD.” Conclusion In light of the above, I find it is unnecessary to opine on the Department’s petition for permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records.
