G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, it is my understanding that the City furnished a copy of the petition to the requestor, Lee Kohlenberger, Jr. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On January 21, 2026, Mr. Kohlenberger requested “[e]mails between [two identified individuals].” It is my understanding that the City assigned the request reference number 26-44. Subsequent to the opening of this petition, in an email to this office and copied to the City on January 28, 2026, Mr. Kohlenberger states, “[p]lease close all open requests at this time. I am unable to pay all the fees. . . .” Conclusion In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the City’s petition for permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records.
