G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Department furnished a copy of the petition to the requestor, Justine Dore. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On February 6, 2026, Ms. Dore requested, “[r]eports 24-2264-OF, 24-2009-OF, 24-1553-OF, 07- 621-OF, and body worn camera footage from reports 24-2264-OF, 24-2009-OF, and 24-1553- OF.” On February 13, 2026, I learned that Ms. Dore modified her request. In an email to this office on February 13th, Ms. Dore stated, “…I would like to hold off on the video footage and would just like to request the reports at this time.” The Department responded on February 18, 2026, stating, “[p]lease accept this as the withdrawal for the petition referenced in the below email. The requestor spoke to one of the clerks on Friday 2/13/2026 to narrow her request to the point where a fee is no longer necessary.” Conclusion In light of Ms. Dore’s modified request and the Department’s request to withdraw this petition, I find it unnecessary to opine on the Department’s fee petition. Further, this office encourages Ms. Dore and the Department to continue to communicate to facilitate providing records more efficiently and affordably. See G. L. c. 66, § 10(b)(vii).
