G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, it is my understanding that the City furnished a copy of the petition to the requestor, Brian DeLacey, of Malden News Network. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L.c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On February 13, 2026, Mr. Delacey requested, “[f]or each of the last ten calendar years, going back to 2015…please provide records for each salaried, hourly, part- time or full-time individual by calendar year paid W2-wages out of any City of Malden or Malden Public Schools budget…” Subsequently, in an email to the City on March 2, 2026, Mr. DeLacey states “we respectfully state that we withdraw the underlying request, so as to not burden state personnel or other staff unnecessarily with this specific request.” In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the City’s petition to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records.
