Williams appealing the response of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 31, 2026, Mr. Williams requested: …copies of the following records for the period Monday, August 11, 2025 through Friday, August 15, 2025, relating to matters in the Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court: [1] Any records listing, tracking, or otherwise reflecting police officers who were subpoenaed or otherwise summoned by any Assistant District Attorney assigned to Roxbury BMC to appear in court during that week. [2] The actual written communications used to issue those subpoenas or summonses to police officers, including emails, letters, faxes, or other written requests or notifications (including any attachments). This request includes, but is not limited to, communications between ADAs and any Boston Police Department “police prosecutor” or court officer assigned to Roxbury BMC, and communications with any police personnel responsible for receiving officer subpoenas at police stations. [3] Any daily officer sign-in sheets, logs, or similar records maintained or kept by your office at Roxbury BMC documenting the appearance of police officers for that week. The Office responded on February 17, 2026, March 3, 2026, March 16, 2026 and March 30, 2026, assigning the request reference number 260202. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the Office provided a further response on April 8, 2026. Where this appeal was opened based on the Office’s February 17, 2026, March 3, 2026, March 16, 2026, and March 30, 2026 responses, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If unresolved issues remain, Mr. Williams may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s April 8th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
