The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records April 14, 2026 SPR26/1260 David Squires Records Access Officer Belchertown Police Department 70 State Street Belchertown, MA 01007 Dear Mr. Squires: I have received the petition of Brady Opalenik appealing the response of the Belchertown Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 19, 2026, Mr. Opalenik requested “. . . any and all information” related to a “[s]tolen license plate” incident on September 19, 2020. The Department responded on April 7, 2026. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Opalenik petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR26/1260, was opened as a result. Subsequently, the Department provided Mr. Opalenik with a further response on April 8, 2026. In an email to this office on April 13, 2026, Mr. Opalenik stated, “I wish to withdraw my appeal and I will submit a new records request to the department.” Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed.
