Sawyer Director of Business & Finance/Records Access Officer Sudbury Public Schools 40 Fairbank Road Sudbury, MA 01776 Dear Mr. Sawyer: I have received the petition of K.B. (requester) appealing the nonresponse of the Sudbury Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 24, 2026, the requester requested the following: [1] The final cease-and-desist letter, demand letter, or similar final written communication sent by Sudbury Public Schools, the Sudbury School Committee, or their counsel to Sudbury Extended Day, Inc. or its representatives concerning the current Extended Day Program Operation RFP[;] [2] [A]ny attachments transmitted with that final letter or communication[;] [3] [T]he final transmittal email, cover letter, or other final cover correspondence transmitting that letter or communication[;] [4] [A]ny billing records, invoices, payment records, or sufficiently descriptive time-entry records currently in the District’s possession reflecting outside counsel work related to drafting, reviewing, or sending that final letter or communication[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the requester petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR26/1447, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the School has provided a response. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide the requester with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days.
