Sawyer Director of Business & Finance/Records Access Officer Sudbury Public Schools 40 Fairbank Road Sudbury, MA 01776 Dear Mr. Sawyer: I have received the petition of K.B. (requester) appealing the nonresponse of the Sudbury Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 25, 2026, the requester requested the following: [1] [E]mails sent to, or received from, between April 1, 2025 and the date of this request from any sudbury.k12.ma.us email account used by a member of the Sudbury School Committee to any actual or prospective external provider of K–8 before-school, after-school, extended day, childcare, or enrichment services, using any sudbury.k12.ma.us email account used by a member of the Sudbury School Committee, concerning possible provision of such services to Sudbury Public Schools, including the current Extended Day Program Operation RFP[;] [2] [A]ny attachments transmitted with responsive emails[;] [3] [A]ny responsive emails or attachments currently in the District’s possession, custody, or control because they were later forwarded to, copied to, retained in, or otherwise brought into District email accounts or files[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the requester petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR26/1451, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the School has provided a response. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide the requester with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office.
