The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records April 24, 2026 SPR26/1517 Michelle Guerette Chief of Police Medfield Police Department 93 West Street Medfield, MA 02052 Dear Chief Guerette: I have received the petition of Cheryl Ryan appealing the nonresponse of the Medfield Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 1, 2026, Ms. Ryan requested “[a]ny and all reports, notes, police logs of an incident (disturbance) occur[r]ing sometime from March 31, 2026 at approximately midnight into April 1, 2026 at 1:00am at [an identified address] involving several individuals, [two identified individuals][.]” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Ryan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR26/1517, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Ms. Ryan with a response on April 23, 2026. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. It is my understanding that Ms. Ryan has appealed the Department’s April 23rd response resulting in a new appeal which is currently opened as SPR25/1549. Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Cheryl Ryan One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
