On August 14, 2026, I requested police reports for sexual assaults at a list of specified locations. My records indicate that the department has not yet responded. The public records law normally requires a response within 10 business days. If I am mistaken, I ask that the records custodian please kindly send me a copy of the department’s response. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Grace Ferguson ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: <gferguson@newbedfordlight.org> Date: Fri, Aug 14, 2026 at 5:23 PM Subject: Public records request / SA 2023-2026 / Braintree To: <jmolloy@braintreema.gov> To the Braintree Police Department Records Access Officer: Please see my public records request attached. Thank you, Grace Ferguson Records Access Officer Braintree Police Department Dear Records Custodian: This is a request under the Massachusetts Public Records Law (M.G.L. Chapter 66, Section 10). I am requesting police reports for sexual assaults at the following list of locations between March 30, 2023 and March 29, 2026: John Scott House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center — 233 Middle Street Royal Braintree Nursing And Rehabilitation Center — 95 Commercial Street Affinity Healthcare — 1102 Washington Street Alliance Health At Braintree — 175 Grove Street Please identify the incident numbers of any reports the department intends to withhold, citing any applicable public records exemptions. This is required under M.G.L. Chapter 66, Section 10(b)(iv), which states that records officers must "identify any records, categories of records or portions of records that the agency or municipality intends to withhold, and provide the specific reasons for such withholding, including the specific exemption or exemptions upon which the withholding is based." The Supervisor of Records has previously determined that it is not sufficient for police departments to merely state that an unspecified number of responsive records are exempt from disclosure, even when citing a particular exemption. Records officers must clearly identify which specific records they are withholding. See appeal #SPR26/2170. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Please let me know if you have any questions about this request. Best, Grace Ferguson
